Brett, the owner at Tumwater Automotive, is extremely honest, and refers you away to the appropriate specialty shop when needed (transmission, tires, etc). They are polite in person and on the phone, gladly drive you home or to work while the vehicle is being worked on, and are good at giving an accurate guess of when the car will be ready for pick up. The shop is EASY to get to.

The folks are very good to work with and always respond in a courteous and prompt manner. The times when they made mistakes, they took responsibility and made it right.

I was recommended to Tumwater Automotive by my supervisor. After the first set of repairs, I never went back to my other repair place. Very honest with what you need, and estimates of the cost are dead on. In fact, and this is more important than anything, an estimate for something to be fixed, for several hundred dollars, and I agreed for them to do the work, they called and said the problem was caused by something else, and was easily fixed, and so my expected bill was several hundred dollars LESS.......where do you find such honesty anymore. My wife and I will continue to use the services here, and openly recommend these guys, and particularly Brett the owner, to anyone listening.

This shop is fantastic! We were recommended by a friend. We will never go anywhere else! The prices are reasonable (and in one case a few hundred dollars cheaper than another garage's estimate) and they do great work fast. Plus - they run your car through the carwash before returning it! They are honest and reliable and happy to make your experience a pleasant one.

Brett Hardcastle owns and manages Tumwater Automotive. He treats his employees like family. He treats his customers like royalty. His staff is knowledgeable, competent and honest. They listen to your problem, and treat you like you know what you are talking about. They will sometimes advise you to buy the parts at the dealer, in order to save money (because if they have to go get the parts, it's a bit more expensive.) Brett's management style is this: He assigns you a mechanic and that person takes care of YOUR car/truck every time you take it in. If you don't like that person, he will swap it around to your liking. "My" mechanic was Josh and he treated my truck like it was his own. He has trained several mechanics who have then gone on to open their own shop, running it like Brett runs his. Not only that, he's pretty active with kids in the area. He hires teenagers to run his next door Car Wash. Those kids work HARD, do a great job, and take pride in their work. All in All, Brett Hardcastle and Tumwater Automotive is absolutely the best car mechanic and repair shop in the country.
