When I first took my Land Cruiser to Steve (via AAA behind a tow truck) I could not get it started! Steve asked me how much did I want to spend to get the thing fixed-I said up to a thousand dollars (stupid of me) I told him I did not need the Land Cruiser back-take your time, etc. (another stupid statement from me!) A week later, he called and told me that the car was ready to pick up. When I got there, he told me that he drove the car and could not get it to cut out. He diagnosed it to the be the carb (had at that time over 150,000 miles on it) but did not replace it. Told me that the "rebuilt" ones are usually worse than what I had-and to carry a screw driver with me to tap it if stops again, as it probably was the float valve sticking. Costs for the entire week $30.00!! (a year later, it stopped-tapped it with a screw driver-and it worked!!)
