I went to them because I'd been told I needed a power steering rack and timing cover repair for a total estimate of $3008! I went to Stryker Bros. for a second opinion after a friend recommended their shop. They were in the perfect position to take advantage of me and to make a lot of money, all they had to do was agree with the the other shops recommendations. With my level of automotive IQ it would have been easy, but they didn't. They checked the power steering and timer cover, and instead of confirming the other diagnosis or making one up, they were honest and said they found nothing wrong and if it were their car, they wouldn't fix either. They did find a worn serpentine belt which, with my approval, they replaced. The car was in at 8:45 and out at 3:45 the same day.

These guys are great! I can go in and give them whatever information I have (my husband thinks, the custodian at work heard this and thinks...) and they figure it out. Not only will they take you home, but come and get you if you want. I changed my plans at the last minute and they took care of charging my credit card over the phone and locking the keys in the weird location I requested, not just above the visor or in the driver's seat like other places have done. When I need to get looked at right away, they usually can squeeze me in, but I usually get in within a couple of working days when it's not a total breakdown of the car.

I would say that they probably are the most reputable mechanic in the area. They are a BBB member, ASE certified, and a member of the ASA. Their prices are high, around $72 an hour I believe. They offer a 12 month 12000 mile warranty. They also write up a written estimate. My car is a beater, but they got it running and I am not disappointed with there work.

My car broke down on freeway. Called a tow and they asked where I wanted it to go. I said take it to a mechanic. He suggested 3 in our area. We went by the first one he suggested, and they were not open. Strykers was next closest to us so we dropped off there. I went in and explained what happened. They told me they would check it out and call with any results. 1 day later the called gave me the results and a quote. I ran the info by a couple of people who know cars; they said it sounded about right. I told them to go ahead and fix it. They did andt hen called for me to pick it up. I did and drove it home, parked it, and an hour later, I went out and I had antifreeze on the floor. Called them back. They said to bring it right back and they Checked it right out and spent approx. 3 hrs. Fixed the problem. No extra charge and runs like a top.
