George has been the absolute best mechanic I have ever dealt with. Price is reasonable, advice is good (willing to advise you against doing something stupid/unnecessary, even though he stands to make a profit); and George brings a heck of alot of experience to Porches and VW's. Most of all, you can trust George.

After 20 years of driving VW vans, I had to switch brands to a you-know-what because the Euros are too rich for my blood. The hardest part of the change is not having George for a mechanic, in fact I put off the obvious change for years because George only works on VW,Audi, Porche. I towed my vans, via a ferry to get to George. Integrity is his middle name. I'm switching back to VW so that George can be my mechanic.

I highly recommend Porbug! I have a 1971 VW Westie that now purrs and starts the first time, every time. He'll explain the situation and how he fixed it,and do the work in a timely manner. He is very reasonably priced! You can't go wrong with Porbug!

I took my '73 Volkswagon Squareback to another shop I found via this web-site, a supposed Volks' specialist, who took almost $400 bucks from me for a tune-up (when I had asked for him troubleshoot a misfiring problem I was having). To make a long, sad story short, I saw George recommended here and gave him a call. I explained the advice from the first mechanic, which George found confusing, and asked me what the original problem I was trying to resolve was. He said bring it in, and he scheduled an appointment for a day later. The afternoon of the appointment he called to say it was ready, he fully explained the complications with the car, he kept the immediate repairs under the budget we had discussed, he showed me the issues that should have been noted in the $300 'tune-up', and he proposed the remaining work which should be completed in the next month. George loves Volkswagon's; he really cares for them. I found George to be extemely honest and helpful, even over the phone with my initial query. If you love your Volks, this is the place!

Well, "Buttercup", my 1984 VW Westy, and I have made it around the US. After 2 months, 22 states and 7800 miles, not a repair needed!!! George did a fantastic job of getting my van road ready. She ran like a champ every day, with out a whimper, well except going up hills, she hates that. So, I guess I didn't need to take George with me after all. :)

A dream mechanic. I am not kidding. "Thorough" does not begin to describe it, even when George is explaining The Obvious to a Certfied Automotive Idiot. If you have a VW and live within spitting distance of Seattle, GO TO PORBUG!!!

Forget the location, which is not at all glamorous. And, there are buses if you need them. About the repair experience, it couldn't have been better. George is honest, fast and charged very fairly. I have an aircooled Bug we have had for years and not just anybody is allowed to work on it. We recently moved from the SF Bay Area and had our mechanics dialed in. We came to this area cold, and I was afraid we would have to work with someone who either never worked on air cooled VW's, or use "the book" to conduct all their repairs. His place is a drive for us, but well worth it. He is even very familiar with high performance upgrades, something most die-hard air cooled mechanics won't consider. George, you have a life-long customer!
