Steve, the proprietor is very knowledgeable in things automotive and mechanical. He has a lot of experience with engines and automotive systems and usually offers quick diagnostic advice based on his lengthy personal experience. He also takes the time to explain the work, how it will be done and the other details of the job. It is a small (two bay) shop that is well equipped, including the electronic devices to track down the gremlins in the new cars. If there is an area that he feels would be better served by another shop, he will recommend some other business that he knows will treat his customers well. His rates are fair, he does not overbill and does not add on the wide variety of extra charges that the car dealers are noted for.

Steve has worked on my 1950 Studebaker and 1979 Lincoln, as well as my late 1995 Explorer. I've seen all makes and models in his shop. If he can't fix it, he will say so. He stands by his work and is not afraid to consult with subject matter experts when needed (i.e. Studebaker). He has the skills to build an engine from the block up and races his own cars. He will tell you when a car isn't worth repairing. He also does pre-purchase inspections and has saved me a bundle. He's a great guy, but if you go in to the shop with attitude, in "high maintenance" mode, or act like a jerk expect to have it thrown right back at you...maybe even chased out of the shop!
