I usually listen to CarTalk every Saturday morning as part of my therapy. Being a Privite Eye, I am always alert and on the edge. Not to jump off, just to be aware of my surroundings. A caller to the show from Michigan, as I recall, wanted to find a source of parts for the Citroen In the U.S. She had a friend from Germany that wanted to tour the states and was concerned about the availability of parts for his car. After lots of giggles by both Click and Clack she got the Idea that you can't get parts here. (Wrong assumption,we got them on the island.) About a year passed and on a sunny day, decked out in my new Columbo coat I walked out the door of Town and Country Market with my Single Tall Moca with no whipped cream and saw a Citroen with German plates parked in the lot. It had stickers on it from most of the states and some of them twice. I staked it out for about a half hour until a German engineer came out and started to drive off. I threw myself infront of the car and had him get out. It turns out that Horst was the person your caller was attempting to find Citroen parts for. I immediatly attempted to call CarTalk Central to let you know that Horst was heading home with his bestickered car and after the local media rushed over to interview him. In his honor the local printer made a Bainbridge Island bumper sticker for him to wear proudly, on the left rear fender as I recall. CarTalk Central, the 911 of the automotive world dropped the ball and Horst slipped out of town in the dead of night after a sumptious repast of granola bars, and has never been seen since. Wistfully I listen to CarTalk, which comes to me on KUOW, faithfully every Saturday morning, reliving my moment of potential CarTalk fame.

im 18 years old, with my First Car!.....a 1974 VW Forest Green Beetle i love these guys, Vehicle Maintenance was most definitely a foreign language to me before i spent some time with the mechanics at "Keiths".... they even helped me retro fit a bicycle rack to the back, perfect! Now i feel way more prepared to take trip further afield...Port Townsend? Forks? The Hoh Rainforest? Bring it ON! Thank you SO much.
