I first brought my car to Northern Motorsports as a mistake. I called another shop also on Route 5 and they said I could leave it at night. I called the next day and they hadn't fixed it. When I figured out what I did, I called in a panic because a co-worker said they charged "an arm and a leg". They didn't then and they have not snice. I once took my VW Jetta Wagon TDI to the dealer- BIG MISTAKE. They were going to charge me over $400 bucks for a a repair that NMS did for a little under $200. And they fixed it the next morning after I called them. They have given me advice (SOUND advice at no advantage to them) over the phone and they are really nice in person, too. As a girl with a car, I am used to being treated like an idiot. Actually, I majored in agriculture and I'm not dumb about cars. NMS has never assumed anything about my car or me except that I need exceptional service and quality- which they seem to give to everybody. I bring my car then every time I feel I can afford it. (Their rates are high, but then, most people's are...)

My '74 Porsche was at my local garage all winter. The problem was that it wouldn't start. The starter would crank, but the engine wouldn't fire. They recommended several solutions, like a new alternator (sure) which I rejected. They finally gave up!! I took it to NMS and they had it fixed in three days! The wires at the fuse box had corroded to the point where there was little or no electricity to the fuel pump and the ignition! They also recommended that I have the engine reseasled, as there were several oil leaks. I have done that, and some things because the engine was out (I know, but is a 30-yr-old car), and it cost me a bunch, but it runs great now, and I think I will not lose any money if I ever decide to sell the car!

We have used "the Zack Brothers" at Northern Motorsports for over 13 years. They have uniformly taken excellent care of our cars and treat us like family; that is to say that Mike Z cares for my car as if I were his wife. If he would do a repair on her car, he does it on mine. I have bought 2 preowned BMWs through Mike because I know if they have cared for a car, I am getting a good deal!! We moved to Boston 5 years ago and for major tune ups and service, we take our cars by to the Zacks -- our faith in them is that huge. They also can recommend the best body work guy under the sun....I took my BMW to him for work after an accident. The guys in Boston wanted $1,200 to do what he did (the easier way) for $400. I would like to find a local mechanic who lives up to the same level of service, but as of yet I have not. So until I find one, I will drive 2.5 hours to give Northern Motorsports my car for any all all TLC required. Oh, I get some too while I am there, because they treat me like family!

These guys really know their stuff. I should know--I used to be a mechanic. A point of reference: they are responsible for maintaining a large fleet of Bugattis. On top of their competence and honesty, they are really nice guys. I STRONGLY recommend Northern Motorsports.
