My Saab died right in front of Hap's on my way out of town after a week's vacation. Walt dropped everything he was doing and spent 3 hours trying to diagnose the problem - 3 hours that he never charged me for. I rented a car from them and drove back to Boston. Unfortunately, they replaced the wrong part the first time around. (It turned out to be the crank sensor). Since I live in Boston they offered to take my car to a different mechanic with lots of Saab experience and never charged me for the rental after the misdiagnosis. While I probably can't testify to their expertise, they took responsibility for their mistake. They could've thrown in the towel and left me with a broken car 200 miles from home. They also could have charged way more than they did. Walt may be the grouchiest mechanic I've ever met, but I'd consider driving back for an oil change.

Hap's staff is very friendly and helpful. They fixed my Subaru's A/C quickly and for a good price.
