A friendly and competent group with a clean shop and reasonable prices. The website is funny and very informative.

This business is the tops. The owners and employees are friendly, competent, and knowledgeable. Prices are better than average. The waiting room is stocked with books, magazines, and comfortable chairs. We were offered coffee, soda, creamsicles, and ice cream. Even the rest rooms were above average. They have a talking parrot and a sweet dog to play with. I can't say enough about these people and their auto repair business. Go see for yourself.

They have a nice website called foreignaffairs.us with very interesting photos of mysteries they have solved. Mine was simple, a leaky heater core.

Very patient. You can talk to the mechanic. Happy to explain in as much detail as you want. They even have dead parts on display to show what things fail and why. I was so impressed, I bought a car from them.

Dan Pittman, the Volvo mechanic started with Strickly Volvos in Harrisonburg then went on his own. I have followed dan from place to place, he does excellent honest work. Foreign Affairs has very clean deent cars (Volvo's, BWM's, VW's, and Audi's for sale. The place has loners ands will tell you what you need. They do not try to sell you more than what you actually need.

Everyone is friendly, everything is explained, they've got loaner cars, comfy seating, great cars to drool over (dibs on the Z8), up to date magazines, books, and wireless internet, though you don't really need any of that with the dog, the bird, and everything else going on if you need to wait. Their website is full of great (approaching astonishing) "Solutions" that no dealer would ever divulge (or admit to), and Dan is truly a walking Volvo manual (well, if manuals had personality and a sense of humor). I am on my second Volvo they've taken care of, even though I didn't purchase either from them. Now if only I could FireWire interface with Dan's brain... I'll settle for USB.

I have been working with them since shortly after they opened. I was looking for a SAAB mechanic and although they did not have their current certified SAAB mechanic (Perry) at the time- they did great work on my car. Then they pulled my son's older Volvo wagon out of a 3 month mystery in 2 seconds flat (and put his mis-diagnosis on their 'wall of shame' on the web site)! They are knowledgeable, reliable, willing to work with you and corrected a mistake at cost even though it was over a year old. All the previous comments or dead on! They guys are GREAT!!
