First off, we don't really have public transportation here, even though we are within 50 miles of Wash DC. That's why they are invaluable. If you call them with a problem or breakdown, Mike will really try to squeeze you in. They are very reasonable, and tell you if it's not time to fix something yet. While he won't tell you what to do, he will tell you if he thinks it is worth the money to make the repair, or if it's time to start looking on craigslist for a replacement. By the way, that is where all 3 of our current cars have come from: 1992 Honda Accord wagon 128K miles for $1500 in 2007; 1995 Toyota Corolla sedan 116K miles for $1800 in 2006; 1985 Toyota Tercel sedan ~150K miles for $950 in 2007. We also sold a T&C minivan on craigslist for $250 more than CarMax offered us.

My family raves about this place. They keep cars running for far longer than one could imagine. They are also incredibly honest. They will not create issues to work on for their benefit. They did an inspection on a car I was thinking about purchasing, for free! - and they didn't know who I was at the time, so it wasn't a family discount sort of thing. A truly honest, high value, no nonsense, no BS sort of place. Trustworthy.
