Many people on the Peninsula, which includes Newport News, Hampton, Yorktown regularly flock to the Western Auto in Grafton because they know the business is honest to a fault. The last two times I've taken my car in, they haven't charged me a thing and they certainly could have. Once they told me my brake squeal was due to brake dust and the last free visit was diagnosed as a glaze on my belts that required no maintenance. There are two women who work the counter in addition to some men, but no matter what the gender, no one ever talks down to me. Whenever I take my car anywhere else in town, I usually want to kick myself.

I have been taking my S-10 and also my wife's Cutless Sepreme to Grafton Western Auto since I moved to the area about five years ago. They are a family owned business, owned by local people, who have been in business at te same location for many years. I have found them to be excellent at their work and absolutly honest. For example, I was planning an extensive work trip out of town requiring about abour 50,000 miles of travel. I took my S-10 to them, which already had 80,000 miles, and said "Just fix everything that needs it." The bill was about $150.00, and that included a new serpintine belt. I reccomend them to everyone I know.
