This local neighborhood shop is run by James Shackleford and, based on my 45 years of owning and repairing cars, is one of the best I've ever encountered. The shop is a converted filling station located in a strictly residential area about 6 miles south of Alexandria itself, 1 mile in from the Potomac River, and has a fantastic local reputation. They've done everything for me from the mundane to the extreme (blown head gasket; replace transmission) and their work is first rate, on time, and reasonably priced. James will always recommend after market parts if available, of high quality, and less expensive. Only for the most demanding jobs is the work not completed as promised.

James is the owner and the person I have dealt with. He is a good man - honest, candid, always helpful. He has a very busy shop, always a good sign.
