We took a car in for a repair. A few hours later the owner (Dale) called and told us he could not fix it. When we went to pick it up, he didn't charge us for the time he had spent. Usually he will tell us when we call if he cannot do the repair, but this is one time when he didn't know until he got into it. We've taken cars to him that we have considered buying and he's told us whether or not he thinks it would be a good purchase. One car he pointed out some hidden rust that he said looked to him like it had been in a flood. Another time he (jokingly) told us he'd love us to buy the car because we'd keep him in business. On one car he told us to let him know if we didn't buy it, because at that price, he would like to. That car has been wonderful. He has done all of these evaluations quickly and at no charge. Uptown Service is a small gas station/garage and cannot do everything, but we trust him 100% with our cars for the things he CAN do.
