My daughter and I were caravaning from Nevada to Colorado last week. Her 1983 Saab 900 Turbo broke down on I-80 outside Park City and had to be towed to a mechanic. We went to Mercer Automotive (upon recommendation from the tow truck dispatch). We knew there was a problem with the distributor but didn't know what it was. The mechanic checked all the wires and found three were bad. He repaired them so we could get back on the road as soon as possible. As we drove out of the parking lot, the car died again. They towed it back into the garage and found that it needed a Hall Effect Generator (??). The part took 24 hours to get there but they rebuilt the distributor asap and got us on the road. We made it the rest of the way to Colorado Springs without a hitch. Mercer was very helpful and compassionate! I was about to have a nervous breakdown but they helped by explaining everything. It was expensive for the wire electrical tape ($92) but I figure that was labor. Otherwise, we were very happy with the atmosphere of the shop and the helpfulness of the shop manager. They did everything they could to make a bad situation a little more tolerable! PS -- love you guys!!!!
