What Butch works on he fixes right and reasonably. But Butch doesn't work on everything . . . or even on all makes. I took my daughter's 80's-model K-car (Plymouth w/ a 2.6L Mitsubishi engine) to Butch once for some engine work. Butch looked at it, moved the cigar stub over to one corner of his mouth, and pronounced, "I don't work on them damn Mutsubushies." And closed the hood. That was that. Another time he'd sunk about 3 hours into an intermittent electrical problem on an aging Chevy and, essentially, decided it was beyond him. When I came in, he admitted he wasn't confident he'd fixed it--although he'd disassembled and cleaned up a bunch of contacts, relays, and wiring connections. He didn't charge me anything--and wouldn't accept anything.
