Mr. Nickles is the owner of this small, independent garage. His shop has about six repair bays, and I have used them for about the last six years. I do not know the names of any of the mechanics themselves, because we just drop our cars (Mercury and Chevy) off for repairs then pick them up when the work is done. I do not hesitate to take our cars to this garage and tell them to fix it and send us a bill for the repair. It is a pleasure dealing with them; Mr. Nickles has in the past told me that some of the repairs I have wanted him to make were not a good idea, saving me money. If I had always had such a reliable garage at my disposal, I would not have become such a shade tree mechanic, and might never have listened to CarTalk!! The garage is clean, our cars are treated well (no big globs of grease inside or outside when they are done), prices are reasonable, and Mr. Nickles explains what he has done (or not done) and why. If the garage diagnoses a problem, and it is something I prefer to repair myself, they charge me a reasonable fee for the diagnosis and do not get angry that I have not let them do the repair itself. They have even referred me to specialty shops which do work that they do not (e.g., exhaust systems) and I have had good luck with them as well. A top-notch operation, in our experience.

Mr. Nickles has been working on my cars since 1978. I have found him to be honest and knowledgable with all the problems I have taken to him. He may not be the lease expensive but he is very reliable with my repairs.
