Jeff , Terry are both straight up guys and will tell you like it is. They will not try to charge you for parts that are not needed. They are resonably priced for what you get. I have used other shops that both start with "A" and I do not reccomend them, neither one lasted over 18 months. I sent a friend to them that another shop said it needed to be rebuilt and come to find out it only needed a catalitic converter.

They check out transmission problems for free. They called back with an analysis of my problem quickly, and offered a couple of options. A cheap quick fix to keep it going $200 (clean out the metal caught in the regulator and hope for the best), or the real fix for $1300 (overhaul the tranny). My tranny had been acting up for a while, and I had the cash, so I went for the real fix. They guessed that it would take four days to fix it. It was a slow week at the shop so they had it fixed in two days. The price was exactly what I was quoted over the phone $1300 including parts, labor, tax, etc. They told me to be sure to let them know if I have any problems with their work. This gentleman's agreement is backed by a 12 month, 12,000 mile warrentee. A sign in there customer lounge says "If we do good work, please tell your friends. If we do bad work, please tell us." This sounds like a good slogan for a repair shop to me. They did good work for me.

This transmission shop was recommended to me by the owner of the shop where I have the oil changed on my Trooper. I am very glad I followed his advice and want to pass the recommendation along to anyone in the Plano, TX area in need of a transmission shop.

We initially took the car into the David McDavid Lincoln dealership since it was slipping from 1st to 2nd (126,000 miles). They recommended a rebuilt transaxle & new motor mounts for $3500. Based on the recommendation from this web site, I instead took our car to Plano Transmission for a rebuild. Only $1500, and did not replace the motor mounts since they were in good shape (guess the dealership was trying to make their boat payment!) Very, very knowledgeable! I've worked on cars (shade tree mechanic) for over 35 years. When rebuilding, he upgraded components based on later model upgrades. Even got rid of an "original equipment" very hard shift from 1 to 2 when cold. Really shifts great now! Only downside: Told me 3-4 work days. Dropped off the car and told him I would pick it up after I return from a trip 1 week later. Ended up taking him 2 extra work days - due to a lot of work coming into the shop at the same time. I sure would recommend him again! Worth the wait to get a quality repair done right!

They replaced a clutch and transmission cables for my Saturn quickly, professionally, and at a significant savings over other options that I found. I would strongly recommend them for any transmission work.

I have dealt with Jeff a couple of times and find him to be friendly, cheerful, and highly competent. On my first visit he explained my car's transmission problem in a straight-forward manner and repaired it to my full satisfaction. On a later occasion, he did a minor repair for free even after the the warranty had expired. I would recommend him to anybody.

Initial diagnostic was right on track. Same with repair time and cost estimate. NO hidden fees or surprises. Vehicle performs marveously. Will strongely recommend to anyone in need of transmission service.

I took my car after my transmission failed. I can feel that while driving it and it went from bad to worse in a day and a half. It had the check engine light on. They checked it and initially diagnosed as the sensor (based on the codes). Then they drove it and told me it was the transmission that had the problem - which is the case here. From what I have heard around, they do a good quality work. I won't be able to tell about the quality of work until after 1 or 2 years to see how it holds. But driving the car it felt fine. The only problem with them is that they took a lot of time as can be seen with other posts. Initially they put the transmission wrongly and they found it during test drive and then they fixed it. But the main issue that I have is I had to spend money on the rental car for 2 weeks (during this whole activity) part of it was due to their fault.

Jeff had the truck five times including a complete rebuild. He never succeeded in making the overdrive work. The rebuild lasted about two years at which time he informed me that my warranty was expired. A competent shop found that wrong parts had been used and that problems from before the Plano Transmission's work had not been corrected. Jeff's conclusion was that I should use another shop. I heartily agree.
