We have had to take both my car and my husband's car (a Mercury) in to be serviced. They treat my 300,000 mile-plus car like it could go another 50,000, but they never do anything unnecessary. They took another place's $3000+ estimate and turned it into $600 after they took out the unnecessary repairs and told me what the consequences were of not doing them upfront (i.e. "this isn't a safety thing, but it will give you ______ if you do it"). They don't try to sell us on a bunch of flushes. I didn't have to negotiate with them because they're already well-priced on their labor, they call to let us know progress, and they have better warranties on most of their stuff than the dealers have had when we have comparison shopped for parts--at roughly the same prices. Off the beaten path in Pharr (but close to Business 83), and well worth taking your car there.
