I went to Ron DeStefano recently with an A/C problem. I'd been told by the local Chrysler dealer that, after testing with dye, there was a severe leak that required $700 to repair. Since it was in very late summer, we decided to delay the repair and have it done in the spring. Purely by chance, I decided to take the car for the A/C repair to Ron, and I told him what Chrysler's mechanic had said about a severe A/C leak. After checking the A/C with dye and charging it with Freon, he called and said that nothing more was necessary; there was no leak. I was incredulous. I knew for certain that the repair would be very expensive. Ron assured me that he and his mechanics has checked carefully using a dye, there was no leak and a Freon charge was all that was needed. He also said if I was concerned, I could return with the car in a week or two, and if there were a leak, the dye would surely show it by then. Needless to say, the A/C works fine and there was not (and still is not) a reason for a $700 repair. Now I call Ron anytime I need advice on my autos. He's always congenial and helpful.
