Robert cares about his customers and about their cars. He learns the histories of both, the quirks of each, and by this knowing does a better job of helping the customer and the car get along together.

Bob maintained my wifes '86 245 Volvo for two and a half years while she was completing grad school at Texas Tech. The car has in excess of 350k miles on it and thanks to Bob it is totally reliable and pleasant to drive. My wife frequently made the drive across the wastelands of the Texas Panhandle to Baton Rouge withy never a hitch. Bob treated my wife and her car like family---- sometimes putting off work to save a little money, sometime being concerned if a road trip was comming up. He will talk to you, not at you. If we lived in Lubbock, I think that we would be good friends.

Since leaving Lubbock, I and my '85 Volvo have felt the lack of Robert in other parts of the country - and we always stop by for a "checkup" when in town. I equate his operation to a good friend who helps you out with your problems. He is always looking for ways to save you money by finding quality used parts, or by even showing you what you can do to fix a problem, if you are so inclined. The only down side I have found is that since I started going to Robert, I no longer trust any other mechanic to work on my car...
