Tim Munn, owner of El Paso Transmissions has done work for me, my family, and friends for over 26 years. He now only works on American made cars. He keeps up with all of the updates and is very technical, he loves what he does. He rebuilt the automatic 4 speed transmission on my 1992 Plymouth Voyager (a notorious dog of a tranny especially if not reworked right) and updated with all of the fixes. Most folks who have them rebuilt elsewhere have to go back and have it done again and sometimes fly-by-night shops are out of business or just won't honor their work. Tim stands behind his work 100%, is a long time member of the BBB in good standing. To check on any business using the BBB hotline, call (915) 577-0191 and type in the business phone number for El Paso Transmissions, it is, (915) 594-0101. It is an automated system with no human interaction and you do not identify yourself, it just states the good or bad facts about a business, BBB member or not. Tim always busy and does no advertising, he is simply known as having the best Transmission shop in El Paso. If I had elderly parents or a young daughter who, while traveling, had transmission problems, I'd feel great about them going to Tim because he is honest as the day is long and would take care of them fairly. Beware of the shop that gives you an estimate that is too good to be true. They may have your vehicle apart and then hit you with a big price. When you object they will tell you to come get it (come pick up the pieces)! Other crooks will clean up and install a junk yard transmission or just fix the one part on your transmission to get it going, calling it a rebuild. Tim is fair priced for doing excellent work. If he goofs up he makes it right quickly. I am not related to nor do I work for Tim. I'm just a satisfied customer of a good guy in a business filled with crooks.
