I found these two brother mechanics working on vehicles in a used car lot. One of them's named Jesus. He speaks English and Spanish. His brother speaks only Spanish. I watched them work well and quickly together. Asked the dealer about them and he said they are independant mechanics he discovered who will go out to anyone's home or business to fix the cars there. Said he uses them because they are fast, honest, get the diagnosis right the first time and do the work very well. So after he discovered them, he uses only them for all his vehicle work, to save his business money. I spoke with Jesus as he lay under a van, taking out the fuel tank. He very politely got out to stand and speak with me, gave me his business card and told he that he and his brother have a shop on North Loop if I want to take my truck or car there, yet their specialty is mobile service. They come to your home, business or place you were stranded and if they can't fix it there, they'll haul it back to their shop. Later on I called them. But not wanting strangers knowing the location of my home, I drove the truck to them to look over for me before I'd decide if I should buy it, as I am not happy with the mechanic I've used the last two years in El Paso. They read the check engine light and told me exactly what Autozone also told me was wrong - failed EGR sensor. Also as tiny pinpoint hole in the radiator. I pretended to be a dumb woman and asked them if, while they're replacing the EGR do-dad, could they please replace the radiator hoses and that funny looking belt (serpentine belt) and see if the transmission fluid is leaking because I just have the feeling that it is, and I feel that all those other things need to be replaced. (I know they don't. I acted dumb to test them.) Jesus was honest, told me none of that needs replacing and why it does not, and honestly said, after looking, that there is no transmission oil leak, that what is dripping is water from the AC unit and that is normal. Two days later, after buying this truck, I took it to their shop. They had it ready for me later that afternoon, just as they said they would. As my truck's a Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with 8 foot bed, Jesus showed me what he calls his "baby" - Dodge Ram 1500 but not 4x4. His honesty with me, quick diagnosis, honest and polite service (when I brought the truck to him, he warmly thanked me for doing busines with him and his brother), has me sold hands down. Plus I like using a mechanic that owns the same type of vehicle I do. The Toyota Corolla's going to them too, next time I need something done to it. They work on all makes and models. Their shop, however, may put some people off. They keep chickens in coops in one area, for fresh eggs and to eat them. Chickens looked happy, but that isn't what one usually sees at a mechanic's garage. They also have a little brown Chihuhuan dog that loves to bark when it sees you coming. Their garage had several vehicles they're working on, and their business seems to be mainly word of mouth. It's easy to miss it driving by it too, as they have only a small homemade sign out in front. Their phone number is 598 - 3232 and cell phone is 329-9606 (El Paso area code). ec kostrubala
