My car is now 12 years old, with only 60,000 original miles--but lots of city, stop-and-go driving. And, honestly, I'm not very good with preventive maintenance and regular service. Sevcik's has worked on my car several times over the past 8 years, and I have been tremendously impressed by their honesty, their customer service, and their knowledge and expertise. Most recently, they helped me with an intermittent problem I have been experiencing over a year or so. When making quick trips to the store, the bank, etc., the car would crank, but not re-start (the engine wouldn't turn over) when I came out. Usually I had to wait 5 to 10 minutes before it would successfully start. When I took it in originally for this, they couldn't replicate the problem, but, when I took it in 6 months later for new tires, the car finally cooperated and refused to start for them. The shop foreman called me and asked me if this was the problem I had reported 6 months before (he remembered or at least had it in his records). He said it might be the fuel pump, which would cost about $300-400 to replace. I was perfectly wiliing to do that, but, when I picked the car up, he told me the fuel pump was fine and all it needed was a new fuel pump relay, which cost about $100. This is just one example of two or three times when I have taken my aging car in with what I was sure was a catastrophic problem--only to have Sevcik's fix it for me for a very low cost. Part of this is probably due to the reliability of the Honda, but a great deal of it is due to the professionalism, courtesy, and honesty of Sevcik's. They are a family-oriented business: Mr. Sevcik, the owner, works the front desk every day, and other members of his family work in other areas (his son is the shop foreman). They are joined by a large staff of some of the best, most helpful mechanics I've ever met. The garage has about 8 bays so they can work on lots of cars at once, and turn them around quickly. They also have one of the last full-service gas stations in this area, worked by a man who just makes your day with his helpfulness and cheery personality. In every dealing I've had with Sevcik's, their service has been everything I could wish for, and more.

The late Mr. Sevcik was a fine man and exceedingly good at his work. It appears that his son, Patrick will continue the tradition. Frankie, the lube manager, is friendly, competent, and honest.

The reception people at this shop are friendly and efficient. They greet many customers by name and remember their vehicles and family. It is much like entering a good friend's home. Recently promoted Frankie is outstanding. Of course service and price are very important. They have never failed me with either. The technicians are understanding in discussing your problem and/or special requirements. I will continue to give these folks my highest level of recommendation. From Bear.

I have been using this shop for 6 years, and they are the friendliest, most knowledgeable shop I have ever used. They believe in a type of customer service I thought had long gone extinct. I visited them the first time when purchasing a used '99 Nissan Frontier. I had just moved to the area and a woman I know recommended them as one of the few shops in the area which had not treated her differently based on her gender. They went through the truck for me and told me that it was in good shape. Since then, I have not had a single major repair. The most money I have had to put in it was a new cap and rotor and some new tires this year. However, they have often found little things (for example as cracked spark plug wire) while doing routine maintenance which has kept the truck running smoothly. I will also say that in 6 years I have never seen an angry customer in their shop. There may be a better shop somewhere in the Bryan/College Station area, but I have never felt the need to keep look since Sevcik's has treated me so well.
