We have dealt with Southwest Automotive for 25 years. Owners Rick, and formerly Bob who still works there, are honest, friendly, and (most importantly) excellent mechanics. All of our family cars and trucks have been expertly maintained, including the re-building of blown engine on a Ford Taurus. We have recommended SW Auto to many neighbors and other friends, and everyone has found this outfit to be excellent. We HIGHLY recommend them! (and they really love it when you bring them cookies ;-)

I started going there on a neighbor's recommendation after another shop - a local chain (to remain nameless) - told me my son's 8 year old Camaro needed $1500 in tie rods and other stuff -- what they called "Camaro crap" front end work. Southwest did $70 worth of work and said nothing else was needed. That was in 1993. I have been going there ever since. That is saying a LOT because I now live almost 30 miles from that shop and traffic in this city is past a nightmare. But, I just do not trust anyone else to work on my car. Everyone I have ever sent to them has been VERY happy with them. They have always treated me with kindness and respect (and that includes the guys in the shop); they have explained things without talking down to me; and they have done the same with both of my kids. As a single Mom, that meant a lot to me. Rick (now the owner) has also checked out any used car we ever considered for a really nominal fee and will find cars for you too. I wish I could clone these guys.
