I've brought all of my out-of-warranty vehicles here for over 20 years -- 1984 Jeep Cherokee, 1991 Ford Explorer, then 2002 Chrysler Town and Country. While they're not always the cheapest, I've never had to worry that they've tried to "fix" something that wasn't broken.

They're not the cheapest, but they're fair, reasonable, and honest. That's worth a lot.

I had been going to a mechanic closer to my house, but am glad I went back to C Van R last time the "check engine" light came on. Charlie actually tested the O2 sensor instead of just replacing it, and found it was fine. Not only did he save me money there, but he leveled with me and said he thought there was a coolant system problem developing, and it was probably time to part with the Volvo. He told me next time, get a Honda. I'm attached to the car so I would have been willing to keep coming in and getting one thing fixed after the other. It's rare that a mechanic looks out for your financial interest rather than his own.
