If they can't make a repair they will gladly refer you to another qualified mechanic who can. The owner who also works on the cars has a college degree in engineering.

Ben is very helpful and willing to spend time with the customer. If the job is too much for their shop, they make a referral.

My wife and I have used Barton's for several years. Always straight, honest and reasonable. Wish they had Saturday morning hours.

Barton's is simply the best small garage that I have dealt with. They come out just a shade ahead of Groovy Automotive in Austin. I took my car to them to have an oxygen sensor replaced. Unfortunately shortly after that the check engine light came back on. This time the problem seemed to be electrical and so they recommended I take the car to Wolfchase Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep. They found a wiring defect caused by a slow leak of hot engine oil. Unfortunately when I picked up the car from the dealer it smelled terribly of unburned gas (not a problem it had had before), failed an emissions test, and a few days later the check engine light came back on. I took the car back to the dealer immediately, they diagnosed a bad oxygen sensor, and they sent me back to Barton's. Barton's looked at the wiring repair, showed me where there were bare wires showing, and sent me straight back to the dealer. The owner at Barton's called up the dealer and they redid the wiring repair. They also replaced the new oxygen sensor (which had been working fine when I drove the car to the dealer and not at all when I picked it up from the dealer). The car runs fine now. I was already impressed with Barton's for intervening on my behalf but then they offered to reimburse me for the original oxygen sensor. I don't believe that Barton's caused the problem so they are in essence paying for the dealer's error simply because they recommended them. This is above and beyond the call of duty. They have maintained my girlfriend's car for years and she cannot recommend them highly enough.

When I was growing up the owner's uncle owned a gas station where we always received excellent service. Imagine my surprise when I dropped my car off at a new mechanic some 10 years ago and see on the wall that the owner is nephew of a friend from long ago. Since that time I not only run my vehicle over there for whatever it needs I also take a fleet of 15 passenger vans from my office. If they can't fix it they will recommend someone who can. AND believe me no problem is too strange.

Doesn't get any better than these guys.

They don't recommend the most expensive option to fix something. They are recommend other mechanics when they don' feel like they have the competence to fix the problem.

Obviously, I really like this shop. I have a general distrust of mechanics but I don't feel that way with these guys. They really are great folks over there!!! I can't say enough about them. I've been in with "check Engine" light issues and mostly they've re-calibrated the computer, telling me it was a short and sent me on my way - when they could have swindled something out of me. ONE time (out of about 15 visits), there was an attitude issue but I probably deserved it (I came in at 7AM without an appointment... hmmmm...) but cookies always help - or a smile. - whether it's male/female biased, I don't know. (I'm female). I've never thought to take it personally. Anyway, I digress... Couple of questions in the survey, I couldn't answer - like if they mess something up, they are honest and deal with the issue effectively. This hasn't happened yet but I imagine the answer would be very positive. Also, they're a block from a city bus stop, but again, needing transpo hasn't been an issue for us (yet - knock on wood). Hey, take your car to these folks. You'll be happy you did! and they'll tell you when it's above and beyond what they can do.
