This is the sort of shop you hope to find when moving to a new city. They have a young mechanic who I hope they will keep for many many years. The estimates are always accurate. They thoroughly explain in advance the work to be done. They complete the work in a timely manner, frequently before the time promised. The work is done correctly, and I have yet to take anything back. The prices seem reasonable. The staff is courteous, and they seem to value me as a customer. On the downside, the area around the shop is semi- industrial. If you are waiting for your vehicle, there is no place to walk and no waiting room to sit in. A waiting area that is only some chairs in front of the counter. The magazine selection sucks so bring something to read. Chapman's earns my highest praise. This is from someone who usually feels he is being ripped off.

In 2006 I discovered this shop through the Mechanic Files. After my visit there I have been back many times. Mr. Chapman is friendly and competent as are his mechanics. I have been back many times with my Civic. I use the Honda dealer infrequently, usually when there is a question as to the right thing to do. Also, sometimes the Honda dealer is less expensive. I wish Chapman's would stop recommending a flush for everything. I understand he has to pay for the machines but I follow the recommendations in the owners' manual. Of course the Honda dealer is now pushing "flushes." It is a small shop with no waiting room. You sit on some reasonably comfortable chairs between a large front window and the counter. The neighborhood is not bad but rather industrial. The nearest food is several miles away but there is a full-service convenience store directly across a busy street. There is a tiny bathroom but it is always clean. I think their prices are fair, their advice good and they seem to know what they are doing.
