C&R was highly recommended by friends of my wife. They treat her well and explain patiently. On an expensive repair, we had another estimate done. Not only was C&R's diagnosis confirmed but they were somewhat cheaper. C&R is conveniently located near The Parkway but their parking area is VERY restricted and inconvenient.

They did a head gasket replacement on our van 17,000 miles ago. I believe it became necessary because they misdiagnosed the overheating problem and made two other repairs, causing the head gasket to blow. $2000 to fix it. It happened again, and again they offered a special price of $1500 to fix the van. Not surprisingly, we declined. We ended up buying the Bar's copper block seal (about $60 and $20 for antifreeze at Autozone) and have been driving the van for two months now, with no overheating at all. It seems to have fixed our problem. Wish they had suggested this since it is an old van not worth putting money into. However, it is still on the road, and we heartily recommend this new Bar's formulation. Saved us a boatload of money and time.
