Mechanics I can trust, who can explain what repairs are urgent and what can wait, and understand that I want to keep an old car running, but not put too much into it. Helpful, patient, and honest!

L&L was recommended by a friend-and I have to say, she was right! They are honest, they do the work on time, and they explain exactly what they are doing and why. The prices are reasonable too.

I've been very happy with this place. Bill and Ray are pleasant, more than competent, and above all HONEST. They get the job done quickly, explaining exactly what needs to be done (and what doesn't need to be done.) This is the first place I have really felt confident bringing my car.

They are totally honest. The first time I came I was complaining about my engine and I also mentioned that the feeling when I turn sharply changed and asked them to have a look if they have time. They called me back and told that it does not make sense to fix engine because the place where the wheel attaches to the body is all rusty and that I shouldn't invest anything in that car. Did not want any money. Another time I failed inspection and the inspection guys told me that I need to replace caliper. I told Bill what inspection guys suggested (also commented that I don't 100% trust them). It turned out that caliper was in a perfect shape; what was needed is some rubber band around the pin in the caliper. So, not only he is not trying to beef up the cost of repair out of the blue; he does not take advantage even when the customer is suggestive. He is also trying to find a cheapest way to do the repair and explains what needs to be done and what can wait/left as it is. Although I don't know how they treat female customers, I don't look like I am car-savvy (although I have been fixing some simpler things in my car myself years ago, e.g. changing breaks) and, as I said, they were not even attempting to take advantage of it. Highly recommend

I found this mechanic on CarTalk.com. I brought my fiancees old toyota land cruiser there because is overheated. The truck could use A LOT of work. They fixed a broken belt, and gave us a complete diagram of the exhaust system explaining which parts should be replaced and which braised. For $57 bucks, I felt like the info and the belt repair were super worth it.

Definitely fast (same day service) and reasonably priced. More than willing to explain what's going on to you, and in an understandable manner. They had a number of opportunities to run up the bill, and they passed on all of them.

What a great find! I chose these guys based on car talk reviews, and wasn't disappointed. I just had my car inspected and was told I needed $1000 worth of repairs. The inspector told me that my control arm was shot and my front axel was about to fall off my car. I took it to L&L for a second opinion. They were able to fit me in the next day (a Saturday morning), and even after I messed up my appointment time they got my car up on the lift in under 10 minutes. Not only did they discover that the part was fine, they even brought me out and showed it to me in person. There were other minor repairs suggested by the inspector and they gave me suggestions on how to do them inexpensively myself. Total cost of visit: $0. I'm almost glad I got a bogus car inspection, because as a result I've now found a great mechanic to use when my car actually DOES have problems.

I was very happy with the service I received. I chose this garage because of the comments I read on Car Talk's website, and I was not disappointed! They fixed my car right away, charged a VERY reasonable price, and treated me with respect (I'm female, so that's not always the case!).
