Al has been taking care of myself, my wife, my parents and oldest sister and our cars for more than 15 years. My sister was the first to discover this mechanic. She is a very intelligent person, but not a "car" person, and he has treated her like a daughter, which is the reason my father and I started going to him. In my dealings with Al he has always been very honest. On many occasions I have taken my car to him thinking that I had a serious and expensive problem, only to have Al call to tell me that the car was done already and the problem was minor and inexpensive. He has even advised me when an expensive repair could have fixed the current problem but was not recommended by him because the car was in such a condition that it would need to be replaced soon anyway or the repair would be more costly than a replacement car. My wife and I drive older cars, and Al has done a great job keeping them up and running safely. I cannot recommend him highly enough!

My regular mechanic had hit me with a huge list of repairs for my 1990 Ford Taurus (which has only 86,000 miles on it). Most of the repairs he suggested were for systems I hadn't had problems with (ie power steering, a whole new wiper motor for one small problem with the wipers, etc). I had taken to the AAA diagnostic clinic in Broomall to get an unbiased opinion on what repairs my car needed. They gave me a smaller list, but included some unexpected things, like floor rot, that needed to be attended to for inspection. I did my online research and chose Alaron based on the recommendation here, and I am thrilled I did. Al took the time to go over the whole AAA list with me, and told me honestly what needed to be fixed, and what issues were normal to expect in an older car. The price for the inspection repairs was so reasonable compared to what I had been expecting that I got some extra stuff done as well. He could have just gone along with the extensive list of repairs suggested by AAA and made out like a bandit, and instead chose to be upfront with me about what actually need to be done to keep my car safe and running smoothly. I will definitely be returning to this shop in the future.

The first time I have ever taken my car to the mechanic and been surprised by the cost in a good way! Everything is always less than expected and fixed the same day.

They have kept my wife's 1994 850 Volvo running at a very reasonable price. It has 100,000 on it and I would not be surprised if Al keeps it going for another 100,000.

I found Al when I needed brakes for my jaguar x-type. No other mechanic could work on it - they all said I had to go back to the Jag dealer (who was going to charge >$650 for one set. Called Al's & he did it for less than half & did a great job. Have used him ever since & love him & his work!

AL is very fair with work and pricing. he often does more because it is an oversight on my part, but tells me first. Keeps my Toyota and my daughter's Toyota running smoothly. Thanks, Al.
