They once dropped everything to fix the steering mechanism on my mother-in-law's Mercedes, thus allowing her to get out of town instead of being stuck with us for several days (while the Mercedes dealer finished suntanning the car). I will be forever grateful. On my own cars, they always stick with the vehicle until it is right. I often think they charge too much, but I bet my own customers think the same, and in the end the car is always right again. The mechanics never lose their cool, and they really seem to know and love their work.

When I looked this place up, these guys are actually considered to be in Plymouth Meeting, not Norristown. Also, they specialize in German cars, not Volvo. However, they do all kinds of work on all kinds of cars. I brought my wife's Neon to have special-order tires mounted. They did the job quickly and knew how to handle these special tires. I have lived in this area for a few years and have not found a shop I can depend on. I was favorably impressed by these guys. They appear very skilled and honest. I will be returning for other work in the near future. I'll let you know how it goes. Jim Cox Fort Washington, PA PS - While there, I also discovered that John Roberts, the proprietor, is a Car Talk fan!

These guys are great. VERY honest, and a lot of integrity. They are not the cheapest, but they always do a thorough job, generally in a timely manner. On the other hand, they are WAY less expensive and pompous than the dealer. If you want, J.R. will always explain what the problem is, how they arrived at that conclusion, and how they will accomplish the repair (but don't expect him to teach you his business!). They specialize in German cars only, but they really DO specialize in their knowledge and equipment of German cars, and know their limits on the few aspects of these cars in which they're not experienced. If I seem too positive, it's because I have a lot of respect for how these guys have built a good, strong, honest business, and I want others to know.

Mechanics were very honest and helpful in explaining what was wrong with my car. They were able to squeeze me in their schedule on short notice so that I could take my car on vacation! Definitely recommended.

If very good car service with an education about you car needs is what you are looking for, look no further than German Auto. I have never been disappointed in the results and have always walked away having learned a thing or two about my cars. I own an 86 Mercedes Benz with 319,000 miles and 2 BMW's with a combined 346,000 miles .. All are serviced here.
