I do not love it when my car breaks down or needs repairs. I do love having a good mechanic that I can trust and does the job well. The guys at O'Briens have never over charged me or pulled any kind of add-on tricks on me, which even the best of previous mechanics have tried before. I even told them I was interested in buying new tires once, and they checked them out and told me that the ones I had were totally fine, and would last another 9 months or so. These guys are busy, but that's because people who takes their cars here once will bring them back again and again, even they are a little tucked away off the road. If you live in Philly it is worth it to take the time to bring your car out to O'Brien's. The owner, Fran, is a cool guy, and knows a lot about green technology (for both cars and homes) and you can strike up a good conversation with him about it. He also offered to bring me eggplants from his vegetable garden. They are just good people!! Here's the review I put up on googlemaps about them: "Take your car here. The three things you need from a mechanic that I have found at O'Brien's: smart/dependable work, fair prices, and people you can trust. These guys do full service, including tires. The manager of this shop, Fran, is not only one of the nicest and most talkative people you'll ever meet, but he really knows what he's doing. I've been in the waiting room at their shop and have seen other shops bring their cars over that they can't fix because they know these guys can. A friend recommended O'Brien's to me last year, and I've never felt inclined to even check out anywhere else ever again. Even if I found out their charges were higher than some other places (which has not been the case for me), I would bring my car here every time because I trust them so much. I do not feel good when my car breaks down and it requires getting it fixed, but knowing that I have trustworthy, dependable people doing the repairs going through it better."
