Vince Merlina, son Brian (who now manages the day-to-day) and their techs compose without doubt the most honest, fair and competent auto repair-shop I have ever found (I'm 51 and no automotive neophyte, BTW). The pride they take in their work is impossible to miss. The shop has been in- existence for about 30+ years. They do absolutely NO advertising. They don't have to. New business is generated entirely by word-of-mouth. As for warranties on their work, to my experience, not needed. They never screwed-up. If they had, I have no doubts it would have been made right. And I had some major work done, most major being the R&R of a new transaxle and clutch at 60K miles on the clock (my '98 SVT Contour was purchased used in '99; from Day One, its gearbox had a minor problem that turned major after 5 years). Their customers are male and female, all treated with utmost fairness. For the sake of credibility, I listed my former zip-code; I have since returned to Dallas -- and was unsucessful in my attempt to persuade Vince and Brian to move their shop here =;~>. My loss.
