Example: We have a 1999 VW Eurovan Camper that we put into mothballs each November and bring out in April. This year, after the usual checks and installing charged batteries, when it started, it idled rough, experienced severe hesitation and ran rich with the Check Engine light on. Note that nothing different was done this year than over the last five years. I limped it up to Hillside, and they put the OBD computer on it - Per the computer, the EMU had failed and was in 'limp- home'. Most mechanics would have shaken their heads and told me that they would order the part (about $800 or so). Their approach was that (direct quote): Sometimes these computers need a hard reboot. So, they removed both batteries (Camper, remember), shorted the Hot and Ground wires together for a few minutes, put everything back and told me to try it - Cured. Really. No charge. Really. We have been going to them for about 5 years now, for Saab, Volvo and VW, several of them _very_ high mileage. Good people!
