Dave has always been extremely honest and fair in our dealings. My dad started taking his Camry there years and years ago and when my dad is satisfied, that is a strong statement! My dad uses him for his and my mom's car, and now that I own a truck, I take it there too. There have been times when he didn't charge me for parts OR labor when his remedy didn't solve the tough problem. My truck is always done the same day, regardless of what needs to be done. Very few guys like Dave left in the world.

I have an older car ('85 Chrysler 5th Ave) and have difficulty finding mechanics who can reliably service my carbureted car. Dave was referred by a buddy who collects older cars and I have never been happier. It's inconvenient that I have to drive 45 mins to get to his place from my residence - but that should give you an idea of my satisfaction. Top notch service and great communication at a reasonable price.

We are lucky enough to have Dave Owen within walking distance from our house. Me and my wife first started taking our cars there when my wife was convinced I messed up a brake job on her '77 maverick. Dave did a brake inspection and drove the car for us at no charge (and saved my ego in the process). During the time we owned that car he must have rebuilt the entire vacuum and electrical system for us. He is willing to take the time to give advice over the phone for repairs I am doing myself (and to make room in his schedule to fix my um.... mistakes). He does excellent work on older and newer cars. Over the last 5 years he has worked on our '77 maverick, '70 dart '88 dakota '92 lebaron + '02 malibu.

Dave is a very honest, skilled mechanic, and when he fixes your car/truck it is done right the first time.He is very experienced in diagnosing problems, and only corrects what is wrong. He is not inexpensive, he is not at the Brand dealer level of expense, but, because of his honesty and concern for your vehicle/pocket book, wallet; I am Very pleased to have our four vehicles serviced at Owens Automotive.'93 Toyota Camry,'98 Ford Windstar,'05 Honda accord, '05 GMC Truck.

After having several unsatisfactory experiences with a shop in the Mount Airy area, I was in search of a new mechanic. I have grown up listening to Car Talk and I remembered to check the Mechanics Files for a trustworthy recommendation - Owen Automotive was at the top of the list for my area so I gave the shop a try. Wow!! What a great experience! Dave, the owner, took the time to explain what work he did on my car and why. After he noticed a few additional things that needed to be done, he called me before doing them and gave me an accurate quote for the expected cost. I left feeling totally confident my car had received high quality service (definitely not something I felt from the other place). Not to mention he was incredibly nice and approachable. As long as I am in the area, I will not take my car anywhere else.
