This afternoon, on my way back home to NC in the soaring heat (115 index!), my a/c conked out. It's Friday at 2 pm. I'm screwed. I physically drove to 4 places that turned me away and called 6 more. None were able to look at my car until next week. I called Remley's, and Dick Remley, the very sweet owner, not only answered, but told me to swing on by. A few hours later, and an hour after his closing time, I was on my way with a working car with blissful cool air, some very sweet stories about his grandkids, and a 3 lb box of delicious mushrooms that one of his customers sells from a cooler in his shop. He also brought me (a woman) back to the car in the shop and said, "Let me show you what I did, in case it happens again." AMAZING. If I lived anywhere near here, I'd be a customer for life. Nicest guy. Fixed the problem, charged me practically nothing, and refused a tip. He's my knight in shining armor. And the mushrooms were delish.
