My '86 Subaru backfired when I changed gears. I took it to three different mechanics who after $1500 worth of repairs had not fixed the problem. I took it to Bochs Automotive. They fixed the problem in approximately one minute by tightening a bolt, free of charge.

Have a Nissan Pathfinder. These guys know their stuff. Had a squeel coming from the axel that had been fixed under warranty twice already. Now out of warranty, they fixed it with an "old farmers trick" that worked longer than the dealer fixes. They even loan me a car while mine is in the shop. I have moved 25 miles further away, but I still go back to them for all my service. Honest. Fair. Fun. Kelly is a great mechanic and great man.

These guys are the nicest, most honest, most competent mechanics I have ever dealt with. I've been in there a number of times for my wife's car and my car. For minor work I sometimes wasn't even charged. They take the time to investigate problems fully and then care to explain it to you. If something isn't broken or can last for a while without fixing it, they will let you know. Honesty and customer satifaction are the highest items on their list. Something was covered under my wife's new car warrentee so they DIDN'T fix it, scheduled an appointment up the road at the dealership, then called to let me know. All of this was so it could get done for free when we didn't realize it would be covered.
