When my mechanic retired a yr and half ago. I had no idea where to take my car or what to do. As a single woman on my own, I was always nervous that my car would break down or something would go wrong and I would not know who to go to or who to trust. I was so afaird of being rip off since I am a woman and no nothing about cars. My old mechanic referred me to Frey's Service Station and its owner, Mike Frey. Mike is dependable, reliable and honest and will tell you like it is. My car is 12 yrs. old and needs a new engine because I have an oil leak inside the engine around the piston rings or something to that effect. Mike told me up front that it would cost $2000 or more to replace it and he said it was not worth spending that amount of money on a car that old even though it has relatively low mileage. Needless to say, I was very upset. He told me to come by every few weeks to have my oil level checked because of this problem and also told me to call him anytime I have any questions. He even said he would call me if he came across another car for me in my price range if he heard of anything. Mike is a great guy and I feel much better knowing that he is there and only a couple of blocks from where I live. He has very good mechanics working for him and everyone I have dealt with is very nice and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend Frey's Service Station to anyone and I already have.

We also used this shop to look over pre-purchase used vehicles for us (3 times). Didn't charge us for the service - the first time when we were customers of another shop which was in the process of moving and unavailable at the time. Purchases were made on the basis of Frey's recommendations. As to shop business hours, we find a 4:30 closing time a little too early, however, he permits us to "drop a check through the slot" and pick up our car after hours. Some emergencies we've had were always able to be fit in and completed promptly. We've never felt we were trying to be talked into work that we didn't need to have done. Patiently and thoroughly explains the reason or need for any more serious work. Never "talked down" to a female family member.

I was in the automotive business for a number of years doing electrical rebuilding and troubleshooting. I got to know the Frey family well and had my inspections done there. Since I changed career fields I have been having all my work done there and have had many friends go there. I have no complaints whatsoever about their work. I have been dealing with them for over 30 years. Matthew Schuon
