B.V.S. Auto Services was recommended by a good friend who has being taking his cars to them for at least ten years. I needed the clutch replaced on my 1985 Toyota Corolla (after 219,368 miles on the original clutch of this car which has been in the family since new!) I called no less than eight repair places in the area, which quoted me prices for the job ranging from $980 at the high end (Toyota Motors) down to $385 at the low end (B.V.S. Auto Services.) B.V.S. is owned by a Vietnamese immigrant, Mr. Ho Hong, and has been at the same location for 25 years. I discussed the work to be done with Mr. Ho to satisfy myself that good parts would be used, and am convinced the parts matched the quality I would have got at most of the other garages. The work was done in four hours, while I waited, and they pointed out that my motor mounts were worn out, they went and got the parts and replaced them within the original promised time for only $30, the cost of the mounts. Very cost effective. And another plus is that they let me into the shop to see the work being done. Not many places will let you do that. I am happy with the work and plan to take my car back there in the future.

The most honest mechanic I have ever found bar none, he is the best in my book. Mr Hong replaced a transmission in my '87 Honda, and there was a problem with it. Ho replaced the transmission again at no extra cost or anything. Any other shop would have charged at least labor to r&r the trans. He is always reasonable and very honest as far as I can tell. He is the best in the Portland Oregon area. Go with Ho.
