I negotitated to buy my 1989 Toyota Pickup (in 2008) at a nearby used-car lot, then called Advanced Exhaust & Auto Repair about doing a pre-purchase inspection. They said bring it on over, looked at it right away, did a test drive, put it on the hoist and had three guys checking it out, took off all the tires and checked the brakes, rotor and wheel bearings (among many other things), and gave me a binding estimate for approximately $600 worth of work. They showed me everything, took me on a test drive with them so I could hear the various grinding noises, and so on. I left the truck with them for a couple of days and got it back in perfect condition. It drives like a brand new truck. They managed to come in UNDER the estimate and so it cost me LESS than I originally agreed to pay. They are friendly, smart, articulate, extremely polite, and clearly very knowledgeable. I'm a female in her mid-fifties and I did not feel condescended to in the least. These are mechanics' mechanics--they had all kinds of work going on, and their small shop was filled to the brim with vehicles belonging, I'm sure, to their many happy customers. Yet I felt as though I was their number one priority during this transaction. You won't find a better place to take your car or truck. They even pick up and deliver, at least in some circumstances!
