Jul 09, 2009
My wife, grandchild, and I were returning from Seattle to New Mexico when our 2006 Cadillac STS struck a curb while parking in La Grande, Oregon. The plastic shield under the engine was damaged and hanging down. On-Star directed us to the nearest Cadillac dealer, M.J. Goss Motors in La Grande. They took us right in, even though it was their lunch hour and the day before the July 4th holiday. They put the car on the lift and assessed the damage (the shield was cracked and had sheared off its attachments). They didn't stock that particular part, and we told them we were just passing through. The service people taped the cracks and wired the shield in place as a temporary fix to get us home. When I asked about the cost, they wished us a safe trip and refused to take any payment for the service. Two days and over 1200 miles later, through rain, wind, and occasional 70+ mile per hour cruising speeds, we made it home in one piece. I'm not recommending that anyone take advantage of their generosity, but I thought folks should know what an efficient, professional, and caring staff their service department has.
