This is an adjunct to the Schaad's on Sylvania Avenue. This is referred to as "Schaads II" at 4409 Bennet Road. The # is 478-2808. This place is the real deal. It does not have a plus waiting room or 3 year old People magazines to read. What is does have is honest, competent mechanics who do not rip you off. This place is sort of out of the way and many do not seem to know it is there. It is worth finding, they can work on any car and usually do it right the first time. My old car was a VW diesel, John worked on it when other mechanics ran from the challenge. He also has fixed a brake problems on my relatives Olds Cutlas that could not even be diagnosed by the dealer. They are great on breaks and do honest tune-ups where, in un-mechanic like style, they do not replace everything for the sake of the next boat payment. The best part about the place is the fact that they do not do things that are not really critical. I have an old Taurus, at NTW they want to redo the whole car, here they do reasonable repairs and to not take advantage of people. They are a staple of West Toledo and will be around forever. They are not a chain and they are not forced to meet quotas on repairs. Simply stated, for general repairs there is no other place in the city that can compare to Schaads.
