Richard was once described to me as the best mechanic in town and I would have to agree. He is honest and upfront and he loves his job, which makes it a joy to take your vehicle to him. He has always tried, when necessary to the customer, to do things as inexpensively as possible. What I like best about him is that he lets you know the things that appear to be on there way out and helps you to make an informed decision about whether it is worth repairing or not. The last vehicle I took to him was definately on the way out. He and I worked together to fix only what was going to keep it running and safe for me, without breaking me so that I could afford to buy another vehicle, which I did a few months later. I actually regret that the truck that I own now runs so well that I don't get to see Richard anymore. Ps. He also helped me decide what would be the best purchase for me, weighing options opposed to expense and expense of repairs.

I started taking my automobiles to Rich King of Kings Auto some years ago and found him to be honest, knowledgable and Honest as the day is long. Did I mention honest. Rich has never tried to raise his bill by fixing stuff that didn't need fixing or not getting with me first on things that needed attention. He is thorough and works with me to keep my vehicles in good shape and safe. I trust my car to Rich, I value his opinion, and I recommend him highly. Rich works on all types of cars but his love is older model porshes

I've been taking my cars and minivans to Rich for several years now. He's always courteous, efficient, and honest. He takes the time to explain the problem and the range of possible solutions. He has on numerous occasions talked me out of fixing something when it didn't really need to be done or wasn't worth the price based on the value of the car. And he broke it to me gently when my last car was beyond fixing. I also take cars to him to check out before I buy them, and he's always honest about the value and whether it's worth buying. I couldn't recommend another shop more highly than King's Auto. Go talk to Rich; you'll understand.

I first took my Mazda truck (which had many issues, borderline lemon) to Rich when I was working in Kent and besides the fact that he was recommended, he was convenient. The truck had many issues, and he was always great at dealing with it and doing it as inexpensively as possible. I have had two vehicles since then, and I live a couple towns away now, but after dealing with some competent mechanics closer to where I live, I am back to dealing with Rich, because I trust him the way you would trust your father to not rip you off. Really knows his stuff, and will do as much or as little as you need.

Mr. King is a superb mechanic & body technician. Although he specializes in Porsche and rebuilds antique Porsche for individuals throughout the US, he works equally well on old or new domestic models and all foreitn models. Mr. King takes whatever time is necessary (either in the shop or on the phone) to explain a problem/potential problem or to offer advice on life in general. Although I no longer live in Ohio, I frequently call Mr. King just to ask a question about a noise or an estimated repair for my 1986, 186,000 mile Porsche 944...which continues to run perfectly. If there is a wait time at the shop, the customer can play with Mr. King's English Bulldog "Maggie". Sometimes customers are asked to take Maggie for a walk (i.e., let Maggie drag the customer along the walk) if "potty" is eminent.

King's Auto is fantastic! After having my oil changed at a local Firestone, they had recommended I do major brake work. I took my car to King's auto for a second opinion. Mr. King took time to listen to my concerns about my car. He drove down the street with me to check the breaks and looked at the break pads. He said that they had plenty of wear left on them and didn't charge me for his services. He saved me hundreds of dollars! Since then I've taken my fiance's car to him too. He has fixed both cars for us in a very affordable manner and only does the work that needs to be done. If you are looking for an honest mechanic in Kent or the surrounding area King's auto is your place. They have been so helpful and I don't take my car anywhere else.
