My mom and I both take our vehicles to Kemp's. I've got a 93 Ford Escort and she's got an 87 Toyota diesel pickup (turbo) and an Plymouth Voyager mini van. We trust Charlie completely. He's always fixed just what he said he was going to fix and charged a fair price for it. I know when I leave my car with him, he's not going to find "broken" things that just have to be repaired before the car will ever work again. One time, right before I left on a trip to Daytona Beach (from Cincinnati) I asked Charlie to check my Escort over. He did and refused to accept any money. When I forced him to take something ($25 or so), he said he didn't do anything to earn the money. I disagreed! Peace of mind is priceless. I felt like it was worth far more than the $25 bucks. Ladies, he's definitely the mechanic for us!

We have a 1991 Mitsubishi Galant that was idleing rough. took it to one garage and they said the float valve was gummed up and cleaned it and charged $70 and it didn't fix the problem. Took it to Kemp's and they found the problem right away (bad plug wire was arcing). Told them we had to rent a car for the day, so they made sure it was done in one day. Thanks Charlie!

I have taken my car to Charlie for 15 years or so and have been very satisfied. He is very honest and will tell you if he is not the best person to fix the problem. He is not the least expensive or the most expensive place for repairs. He explained that sometimes it is better to use OEM parts even though they cost more than ones from the "Chain Parts Stores", because they usually last longer. I have first hand knowledge of that theory. The original muffler on my Nissan lasted 7 plus years and over 100,000 miles. Having worked in a garage back in the 60's, I still do monor repairs myself. I purchased a "top of the line" muffler from a chain parts store and it lasted a little over 3 years and 40,000 miles.
