My father, a NASA employee and mechanic-on-the-side, recommended these guys to me as the only folks he trusts to do muffler and exhaust work the way he'd do it: right and dirt cheap. I stand behind his recommendation 100%-- the guys at Allstar have always diagnosed the problem and fixed it within hours (if you show up at 8am and are waiting in the lot when they open, they'll see you within minutes). And their prices are incredibly reasonable-- parts are at cost or pretty darn close. Last time I saw them was for a mysteriously (and deathly) loud rumbling from the front of my car where a pipe leading from the engine to the exhaust had come unattached. I was frantic, thinking I was about to blow my meager post-college savings, but two hours later I had a problem-free car and and what amounted to a lifetime parts and labor guarantee: my mechanic said if it ever gives me any problems, to bring it back and he'll fix it for free. All of this as we're standing under the car and he's explaining in detail what the problem was, showing me exactly what he did to repair it, and teasing me for driving such a clunker. 180 bucks. Amazing. It's a shame they only do mufflers.
