I have never taken a car there for repair and not been surprised that the bill was lower than I anticipated. Since this goes together with the repair ALWAYS being done on time and ALWAYS fixing the problem, this seems to be a winning situation all around. When my son bought his first car which turned out to be un UNRIPE lemon, John worked on it whenever yet another seal broke, until we all agreed it was better to let it go. Recently my son desperately needed a new car very quickly, and John sold him an excellent, older used car, which he had completely restored (including new tires, brakes, battery, exhaust system and an excellen paint job) for $500 below the blue book value. When he guaranteed it, we had not problem accepting that guarantee, since we know he will stand behind it 100%. Having found John to work on our cars (Subaru, Geo, Chrysler in our case, but he also specializes in Volvos - a good thing in Volvo Town, Ithaca, NY) is like having found a good family doctor, whose diagnosis you know you can trust.
