After purchasing my first Volvo wagon in 1982 ,I began to deal with Universal, which was operated by Theo Barsch. One day I could not start the car. Upon calling Theo and explaining the problem, he travelled 3 miles to my home crawlled under the car and whacked the starter with a hammer. This was the only time I ever had a house call done by a mechanic. They threw away the mechanic's mold when they made Theo!!

Eric worked on my car while I lived in Buffalo, NY for one year. I trust him and he is extremely knowledgeable and willing to explain any repairs. Well, having said that, on the road to Austin, Texas, low and behold I find myself without any power steer, and aapproximately 10 miles later my car just up and died (in Memphis, TN). AAA towed me to a station that had already closed and I called Eric back in Bflo to explain exactly what happened. He told me what the mechanic needed to do...which did not include the $749 replacement of my alternator as they were suggesting. So, I looked up a Volvo mechanic on this website, called him to see if he was in agreement with trusty Eric, (he was), and had my car towed and repaired that same day. (It would have meant a long weekend in Memphis at the other shop). I am ever so grateful to Eric for his help! I am also grateful to Tom and Ray for this website's mechanic search. You guys rock!

The best Volvo mechanic in Buffalo. He can handle the old vintage 122s, 240s all the way up to the newest S80s. You have to be patient - he's a one man shop with many loyal customers.

Eric is an exceptional mechanic that works on European cars. Volvos mostly, but also Saab, Audi, VW Mercedes. He is very hardworking, honest and trustworthy. I won't take my 99 Audi A-6 anywhere else.
