I was pretty despondent when I was told by my mechanic that I would need $500 worth of new parts and labor to fix a ruptured muffler on my old Toyota land cruiser. The standard procedure is to replace everything; not only for more profit, but less liability. I understand, but I can't afford it! I started to call around and found this little place in the Sternberg Park area, off Flushing Ave. The owner, Willie, is a bit of an eccentric, a loner, but he definitely knows his mufflers. He cut out the old muffler and welded in a new, premium, glass-lined replacement for $135, with a years guarantee. I also had him replace a missing hanger for another $28 which holds the whole assembly together. Willie is actually a "master welder"- his work is impeccable. Rock solid! Now my "beast" runs like a quiet kitty and no rattles! He also was able to do it while I waited, in less than an hour. I am very satisfied. He also on a separate occasion, welded a crack in my exhaust pipe flange. This fix saved me a lot of money and time, and the weld is holding well. Good work.
