Finding a reputable VW mechanic outside of the dealer is a challenge in Las Vegas-- the dealer has a near-monopoly and a horrible reputation for handling VW customers with dignity. Wolf is truly a rare find both as a VW specialist and a mechanic in general. He is factory trained and certified (yes, his thick German accent is authentic), worked for the dealer at one time, and knows VWs of all kinds inside and out, including the older air-cooled models. He can often dignose a problem immediately, and has built a dedicated clientele based upon his expertise of the workings of VWs. The shop also does a great deal of work in building performance VWs, so Wolf has extensive knowledge in this area as well.

Wolf is very reasonable and an excellent mechanic with more than 20 years of factory trained service.

Wolf is great! He's extremely competent, straightforward, honest, and fair. The first time I used him, in 2001, I was new to town and had my 1996 Passat towed into the shop; Wolf could have taken advantage of my desperate situation but, instead, I drove out in a well-running car having paid only $100! That was only one of many times that I towed my Passat in, and every time, I was incredibly relieved that I had Wolf to bring it to. I was ALWAYS satisfied with his work (though not so satisfied with the reliability of the Passat, but that's another story that any VW owner already knows). I finally sold the Passat in December 2007 and opted to buy a more reliable Honda. The only downside to getting rid of the VW is that Wolf will no longer be my mechanic. If you have a VW in Las Vegas, Wolf is the guy for you!

Wolf and all his guys are very knowledgeable and helpful. I brought a used car to him I was considering buying, he checked it out free of charge and even gave me a checklist to help me in my negotiations back at the dealership. I bought that car and wouldn't let ANYONE else touch it except Wolf. I am one of 6 VW/Audi owners amongst my friends, we all use him and I will remain a VW owner even after this Jetta as long as Wolf will work on it.

Wolf has got to be the most charismatic and genuine man that I have ever met. He is the owner of the business and knows anything and everything about Volkswagen's. He was honest with me about what was wrong with my car and even showed me the broken and worn out pieces he replaced. He spent a lot of time with me explaining the problems and he was very affordable. I would recommend him to any of my friends that own a Volkswagen, and have even asked strangers if they needed a good mechanic! I will not take my car to anyone else. He was wonderful and knowledgeable.

Wolfgang Blum is from Germany and you can barely understand him, which is a good thing, because he knows German cars. He was trained on VWs in Germany and knows his VWs. He's older, has a few wonderful blokes working with him, and prefers to build performance engines. He's established and can pick and choose his jobs. Luckily, he's taken on the maintenance of my 98 Golf, which I bought used and I cried when he looked over my purchase and found it needed...a...transmission. Wolf not only got a good price on a NEW transmission, he installed it at a very reasonable price. And yes, it was new. Wolf is particular to show you every step of the process, offer you the pulled parts, and invite you back into the bays to show you exactly what he recommends to be done. He often has his other mechanics do the grunt work, but you always know which of the 2-3 guys work on your car, and Wolf truly keeps them on their toes. I cannot recommend Wolf's shop enough. The shop is in a Godforsaken area of North Las Vegas and he'll NEVER let our car stay overnight. He holds court daily for lunch and chats with his friends, perched on a high office chair in the 'waiting' room. You will be involved in that chat, and be prepared to spend time there...its a social event, surrounded by VW/Audi performance parts. Take the afternoon off. Wolf works 8-4:30 daily, no nights, no weekends. Adjusting your life to his hours is WORTH IT.

The positive online reviews of Wolf's Auto Repair convinced me to give them a try when my VW needed work. The repairs done by Wolf's were timely, on-budget, and accurate. Wolf not only took the time to come outside and investigate the problem with my car, he also explained the repair in-depth once it was complete. He offered up all the replaced parts, right down to the filters, and even pointed out things the last shop had failed to do. When he learned I was a Vegas newbie I even got an earful about common car problems experienced in the heat of the Las Vegas Valley and simple steps to prevent them. What a relief it is to find a knowledgeable, straightforward, friendly shop Like Wolf's upon moving to a strange new city. If you own a VW or Audi, the trek to Wolf's Auto Repair is absolutely worth it.

I have been taking my 2001 Audi here for the past four years and have always been treated fairly and respectfully. When my check engine light kept coming on, they took the time to find the problem, lent me a loaner car (that was waiting for me when I dropped off my car), and were amazing the whole time. My car runs great and has no problems (after that check engine light issue was fixed!); I would absolutely recommend Wolf and his shop to anyone.
