While visiting Taos, NM from the SF Bay Area, my VW GTI's dash lit up like a pinball machine and it couldn't make up its mind which gear it wanted to be in. My regular mechanic in San Francisco (Moss Motors - the best) suggested I have the fault codes pulled, and Metric Motors was happy to oblige. They immediately ordered the relay switch I needed and installed it before it was even entered into their inventory. They were friendly, honest and fair. If they treated me, an out-of-towner, this way, it is hard to imagine that they wouldn't be great mechanics for a local. I recommend these guys.

I had a strange problem come up with my Volvo while traveling. These guys saw me that day and even went to the trouble of calling a buddy at a Volvo dealership for advice when they couldn't figure out what was wrong. It turned out it was a common problem for this model that the dealer saw all the time. While I was there, they were telling another guy about how they went searching on the internet to diagnose the problem with his Volkswagen. Honest mechanics who seek advice from others when they're stumped instead of tearing into the engine and replacing stuff-- it doesn't get much better than that!

On April 8-12th 2008, our family was on vacation and visiting Taos New Mexico for the first time. We had an ovewrheating problem with my son's Nissan 2004 Pathfinder. We took the car into Metric Motors on friday morning. We were due to drive back to Fort Worth TX on Saturday. They ordered a new thermostat on friday afternoon and had it installed by Saturday morning. They did not take advantage of our stranded sutituation. They did the work quickly and at a reasonable cost. James and Joe were honest and professional. I would highly recomend them for your repairs. Thanks: Guys
